Urban hens provide a number of benefits to a household. Including, but not limited to: utilizing our food scraps, reducing our bug problems, turning our gardens, creating rich fertilizer to boost gardens and compost piles, providing endless hours of entertainment and providing us with inexpensive, nutrient dense eggs. Come learn where Columbia's urban hen initiative is, what is needed to raise or keep hens and ask plenty of questions.

Mary Stilwell has been a Columbia resident since 2004.
