Energy from the Sun and Wind: Passive and Active Solar Applications in Missouri
(12:15)

Presented by Michael Goldschmidt

Find out how the sun and wind can be used to heat, cool, and power your home. The workshop will explore how to use the sun’s energy to heat a home in the cold days of the winter, and wind (breezes) to cool a home in the warm days of the summer. Through use of solar panels and wind turbines, the sun and wind can be utilized to provide electricity to your home.

Michael Goldschmidt is an architect and teaching assistant professor in the department of Architectural Studies at MU, and is a State Housing and Environmental Design State Specialist with MU Extension. Michael teaches workshops and classes on green building design and climatic design of buildings.
